UAVs and the related laws, policies, and procedures are ever changing and the penalties run the gamit from no offense to serious felonies. The Law Enforcement Professional must ensure they are in compliance with the law when they are flying a UAV, as well as enforcement of UAV offenses. There is much more to conducting a legal government flight than turning the device on and putting it in the air. The pilot must become a student of UAV laws and procedures. Every flight must be done with the safety and privacy of the public we serve at the forefront of their mind.
