ADDITIONAL TRAINING

Here are a few additional trainings we have attended and have found useful. There are many "snake oil" companies out there, so finding trustworthy and accredited resources is important. We do not endorse any specific company or program, but we do attend and vet any/all that we can.

Training Focus: FAA Part 107, Flight Training
Training Structure: Online, In-Person, Classroom, Scenario
This 1-day (8-hour) course consists of 2 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of outdoor flights. Designed for the beginner sUAS pilot, this course will educate someone new to flying a UAS on laws, rules, best practices and recommendations.
At our UAS training field on the Texas A&M RELLIS Campus, participants will also perform flight exercises designed to enhance their piloting skills. This will be done using our new, state-of-the-art small UASs.
Why take this course? Proficiently flying a UAS may sound and look easy, but it is not. Every UAS pilot crashes at some point. Participants will learn many valuable techniques to help ensure more safe flights.

HELPFUL TRAINING MATERIAL
Here are some videos and an App I found helpful when studying for my Part107. The videos are free and also available on YouTube. Keep in mind these videos were made before night flights were approved with Part 107. The App costs $5 but is made by the actual company that made the test. When you are consistently scoring in the mid 90's on the App, you are ready to take the Part 107.
